Try It!

Let's practice some of the skills we've discussed in this part of the module: getting going with WorldClassRoom and Webex, and assessing your syllabus to determine what is most important to your students' learning.

Get Caught Up

  1. If you need a refresher on the tools of WorldClassRoom, head to the WorldClassRoom Introduction module.
  2. If you need an introduction to Webex, head to the WebEx/WebNet+ module.

Assess Your Syllabus

  1. Take a look at your syllabus as it exists right now. Look at the learning outcomes on your syllabus and remind yourself that all of your activities should tie back in a clear way to those outcomes. If you like, you can create a table listing all the activities you do in your course and which learning outcomes they address.
  2. Make a note of which activities within your course are most crucial to achieving those learning outcomes. In-class activities? Papers? Group work? Pick one or two of these items and brainstorm what it might be like to do these activities in a remote format.
  3. Talk to colleagues in your department about how they are transitioning their materials, and come into Open Office Hours to discuss your course one-on-one with our support staff. The times of Open Office Hours are posted on the Knowledge Center Homepage.
