How To: Include Videos
There are several ways for you to add video to your course. These videos can be self created or brought in from a web page that you use as a class resource.
Idea #1
If you want to record in Canvas, use the "Record/Upload Media" tool in the Rich Content Editor.
Simply click on the icon and Canvas will attempt to connect to your audio and video.
If you have already pre-recorded video, this icon is also where you want to start.
Idea #2
Include a link to an external video, such as YouTube or a Ted Talk.
How To
- Copy the web address, or theURL on to the Canvas page.
- Add a space at end of the copied URL to automatically embed the video
- Alternately, look for a symbol or word that will let you embed the video then copy that code.
- Switch to HTML editor and paste the embed code.
Idea #3
If you have chosen to use Modules, you can include a link to the external URL where the video resides with a Module.
How To
- Open the Modules page and navigate to the module where you want to add the video.
- Click on the + button to add content and then choose "External URL" from the dropdown list.
