Quizzes and Exams

Quizzes and exams are a normal part of most classes and you probably already had a way to deliver, in your face to face environment. Since you cannot hand out that quiz in class now, think about setting it up in Quizzes.

Using the Quizzes tool allows you to create the quiz online, to be distributed when and how you want.

Once you decide to use the Quizzes tools, you will find lots of control options, such as time limits, randomization, question presentation. When you start creating the questions, you will find many types of questions, and not just m/c and t/f. There are 11 different types of questions including essay, file upload, numerical answers, etc.

More information on Quizzes can be found on the following pages:

If you have the quiz already created in a Word doc, you can upload the file using a piece of software called Respondus. The software (only available for Windows users), instructions, and registration code can be found on the Respondus Information page.

Publisher Test Banks

Sometimes instructors want to use the test banks that come from the book publisher. The OLC can assist with the upload of those files if you send the files attached to an email to support@webster.edu with instructions for which class should receive the files. Once the test banks have been uploaded, instructors can then access them via the Quizzes tool and choose which questions to add to each quiz.

For more information about adding questions to a quiz from a test bank, see the Test Bank Canvas Guide Links to an external site..
