Possibilities for remote learning

In-Class Discussions

Online Discussions or Webex/Zoom discussions (ask students to contribute by raising their hands or typing in the chat that they'd like to be next).

Student-Led Discussions

Student-led online discussions or Webex discussions where you ask students to pose the questions and moderate

Lecture combined with Think-pair-share

Asynchronous lecture content (video/podcast) + online discussion or assignment + Webex/Zoom debrief

In-Class Debates

Structured debates in Discussions

Role Play Activities

Students complete in groups on their own, then submit reflection papers

Muddiest point/Exit Slips (Classroom Assessment Techniques)

Complete before coming to remote class and share in Discussion or in response to an Announcement; use for Just In Time approach

Group Projects

Canvas Assignments allows you to assign groups, Office 365 has tools for collaboration and file-sharing

Presentations

Students can present live via Webex/Zoom, or ask students to create a video of themselves, upload it to Office 365, and then post a link to it in a Discussion to share with all their classmates

Collaborative creations (concept maps, shared notes, shared documents)

Use Office 365 tools; create file and then generate shareable link for all to edit/contribute
