Articles/cases applying ADR framework (recommend 5% of grade) - Instructors may find their own cases or articles that illustrate the ADR framework of strategic thinking. Appropriate articles typically address issues of which market to choose at "attack" (or defend, retreat, avoid as dictated by circumstances), and how assessment of company strengths (expectancy) and market stakes (valence). An article about Cadillac, and a second article on Juan Valdez (Colombian Coffee Federation) are provided with grading rubrics in the course shell and may be optionally assigned; both address classic strategic management choices and thus illustrate the framework of strategic thinking used in this course. Instructors are encouraged to find similar articles on their own to keep examples current. Additionally, please post appropriate articles that you find in this forum so that we may discuss them as a group for better understanding before going before students.
