STAT 1100-50: Descriptive Statistics

Welcome to STAT 1100, Descriptive Statistics, for Spring Semester 2022. This course is very much maintained via Canvas. Lectures take place in person. If for some reason, you need to attend a lecture via ZoomI highly recommend downloading the free desktop application since it allows you to more fully participate in lectures. For instructions on how to locate Zoom recordings, please watch the instructional video Links to an external site. in the Media GalleryPlease make sure to stay up to date.

Make sure to sign in to the Class Notebook within Canvas. This is the only way to access lecture notes or any notes taken during class time. I recommend downloading the free OneNote App once you successfully sign in the first time--the offline app works much better than the browser version. (Also, because I write with black pen, you should not use dark mode.) For help getting signed in the first time, check the Lecture Notes page of the General Information module. If it still doesn't work (which sometimes happens), email me and I can fix it.

Please see the Modules section for the most recent information on topics we're covering the class. The topics covered in this class are relatively common and straightforward. Should you ever need additional information on any topic, you should check the appropriate chapter in the book and/or search for the topic on mathsisfun or Khan Academy. You can also use the photomath,  Wolfram Alpha  or any other site, app, or other source for help solve example problems. Please also keep in mind that you can and should take advantage of the Quant Center as a source of support for this and future courses. Please, please, please get help as soon as you think you need it. You do not want to fall behind in this course--it is nearly impossible to catch up again.

Always make sure you're checking for Canvas for any updates.
