WorldClassRoom, WebEx and Other Tools

Tools to Use for Remote Teaching in Summer 2020: (coming soon) Teaching remotely can seem rather daunting for the uninitiated. Please join us to learn more about the tools that are available for all instructors to use while teaching remotely. Some tools we own, like Webex, WorldClassRoom, Films on Demand and Office 365. Others come highly recommended like Screencastify, and Facebook (you will love some of the groups that have popped up in the last month!). This is NOT a training session but rather an informational session to familiarize you with the availability of tools.

Using Direct Share: Direct Share has been enabled in WorldClassRoom. This feature will allow you to share content among other WU faculty members and will also provide an easier way for you to move content into any Summer courses you are teaching.

Finding Video Content for Your Class Links to an external site.: (ppt presentation is linked) As you move your classes to remote instruction, are you wondering what to do with that film on DVD that you would show in a face-to-face session? Trying to use the “share screen” feature to show video in your class is not possible and results in a poor experience for students, usually with choppy sound and video quality. There are also considerations for content that can be “ripped” and placed inside your password protected WorldClassRoom (Canvas) course. Does the library have any content or guidance that can help?
